The UMKC Henry W. Bloch School of Management Regnier Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation recognizes great entrepreneurs. At its 36th annual Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, the 2022 honoree for the Henry W. Bloch International Entrepreneur of the Year is David Steward, founder and chairman of World Wide Technology, the largest Black-owned business in the U.S. Steward began World Wide Technology in 1990 with a handful of employees and a 4,000-square-foot office, and it now employs more than 9,000 people at more than 20 facilities around the world. It generates more than $16 billion in annual revenue. Steward is a civic leader and philanthropist committed to expanding opportunities for Black people and others from historically underserved communities.
