The big urban centers have betrayed the Black American, who was simply looking for better opportunities for themselves and their families. Big Cities have become the epicenters of crimes & violence, high unemployment rates, deplorable public education systems, lack of affordable housing, skyrocketing rents, corrupt leadership, and urban decay. Better opportunities and lifestyle are the reasons Black Americans left the South at the beginning of the 20th century… and these are the same reasons why Black Americans are returning back… and even branching out West.
